Albany Real Estate

Bordered by Berkeley to the south and west, El Cerrito and Richmond to the north, Albany is situated along the eastern shore of San Francisco Bay. With an estimated population of approximately 18,000 in 2010, Albany serves as home to a number of educational institutions such as Albany High School, Albany Middle School, Tilden Preparatory School and St. Mary’s College High School. Majority of the residents in Albany are non-Hispanic whites and belong to the 45-64 age range.

Solano Avenue is considered to be the center of economy and business in Albany. With a pedestrian-friendly structure, Solano Avenue hosts small shops, restaurants and service centers. It also hosts the Solano Stroll, a yearly street festival held during the second Sunday of September. The major business establishments are located at San Pablo Avenue, another major commercial and retail arena.

The main activity hub is along Solano Avenue with plenty of stores ranging from China Village (my husband’s favorite Chinese restaurant!) to La Farine and Zachary’s Pizza, just to name a few. As a result, home prices are generally higher than surrounding cities, appreciate in value faster and hold their values better in a down economy.

Sports enthusiasts should visit the Golden Gate Fields, a commercial racetrack in Albany. You can also watch the tournaments of the Albany Little League. Music fanatics also have their share of entertainment in Albany with the Albany High School Jazz Band. You can also visit Albany’s recreation parks such as Creekside Park, Ocean View Park and Jewel’s Terrace Park.

Client Testimonials

I never thought I'd be able to purchase a home on a single income... But now I am officially a home owner thanks to Unhei. She's great great great! A few reasons why I'm really glad I worked with Unhei: 1) Knows the neighborhood really well (Oakland, Berkeley, Albany, etc.) 2) Understood what I was looking for & was able to give me a filtered list of what I'd be interested after combing through what's out there (I didn't want to look at every crappy piece of property for sale & I didn't have the time to waste) 3) Takes care of her clients. Every time I thought about calling Unhei to ask a question, she was usually one step ahead of me and calling/emailing me with the same info. I suspect she can read my mind. 4) Super responsive. My emails/phone calls were always answered in a timely manner. Home buying is such an emotional rollercoaster, having a responsive agent can really help, vs. an unresponsive agent ... that could really add to the turmoil! 5) She'll tell you like it is, and sometimes, that's just what you need when you're dealing with so much emotion, money, & committment. When I upgrade down the line, I will definitely work with Unhei again.
