Where or What is City of Piedmont?
Living in the East Bay, it’s easy for me to forget that not everyone is familiar with City of Piedmont which is not to be confused with Piedmont Avenue, a neighborhood in Oakland.
Recently, I got into a conversation with a San Francisco resident. He called because he wasn’t familiar with Piedmont, therefore wasn’t sure if it was the right move, but liked that he could get more house in Piedmont than San Francisco for the money. I felt like a gushing commercial as I told him that Piedmont is the very best place to buy in the East Bay because of its excellent public school system, low crime rate, temperate weather, small town feel (check out their annual 4th of July parade and Turkey Trot), short commute to San Francisco, and close proximity to Piedmont Avenue, Lakeshore, and Grand Lake shops and restaurants.
During the heyday of real estate market, I had friends buying million dollar fixers in Piedmont and asking their friends and familiy to come out and help them renovate. Nowadays, you can actually find decent move-in ready for a little north of a million. If you haven’t visited Piedmont, contact me, and I’ll show you what I mean.
